1. Is this your first time at the Morelia International Film Festival?<\/b><\/p>

Yes, I tried to get in with another short film last year, but it wasn\u2019t accepted.<\/p>

This time it was, and it\u2019s a great honor.<\/p>

2. Why were you interested in addressing this subject?<\/b><\/p>

I spent some time living in a neighborhood on the outskirts of Mazatl\u00e1n dedicated to prostitution, and there I had the opportunity to meet very interesting people from whom I believe we all have much to learn. The theme that interested me at that point in my life was the difficulty many people labeled as \u201cdifferent\u201d face in integrating into society \u2014 and how they reveal hidden aspects of ourselves that we need to pay attention to.<\/p>

3. What was the biggest challenge you faced in making your film?<\/b><\/p>

The challenge was the aimless search \u2014 setting aside all preconceived ideas and simply dedicating myself to truly listening to the character who opened up to me and wanted to tell me everything about their life.<\/p>

4. What are your expectations for the Morelia International Film Festival?<\/b><\/p>

This piece is part of a feature-length film made up of several characters. I hope that La Morena<\/i> generates enough interest to help raise funds, edit, and complete the full-length version of this documentary.<\/p>

5. What kind of films would you like to continue making? (In terms of genre and theme)<\/b><\/p>

I\u2019m interested in the social genre \u2014 or rather, in cinema that glorifies the human being, that brings attention back to what\u2019s happening in our society, in the world, and in our suffering brothers and sisters.<\/p>

2. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 te interes\u00f3 abordar este tema?<\/strong><\/p>

Estuve un tiempo viviendo en una colonia en las afueras de Mazatlan dedicada a la prostituci\u00f3n y all\u00ed tuve la oportunidad de conocer gente muy interesante de la que creo todos tenemos cosas que aprender. El tema que me interesaba en ese momento de mi vida era sobre las dificultades de integraci\u00f3n de muchas personas consideradas “diferentes” por la sociedad y c\u00f3mo ellos y ellas nos muestran aspectos ocultos que necesitamos observar.<\/p>

3. \u00bfCu\u00e1l fue el reto m\u00e1s importante que enfrentaste en la realizaci\u00f3n de tu cinta?<\/strong><\/p>

La b\u00fasqueda sin objetivo alguno, dejar de lado toda idea preconcebida, tan solo dedicarme a escuchar atentamente al personaje que se abr\u00eda a m\u00ed y que quer\u00eda contarme todo sobre su vida.<\/p>

4. \u00bfQu\u00e9 expectativas tienes del Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia?<\/strong><\/p>

Esta pieza es parte de un largometraje compuesto de varios personajes. Me gustar\u00eda que la Morena cree suficiente inter\u00e9s para poder recoger fondos, editar y completar este documental de mayor duraci\u00f3n.<\/p>

5. \u00bfQu\u00e9 tipo de pel\u00edculas te gustar\u00eda continuar realizando? (En cuanto a g\u00e9nero y tem\u00e1tica)<\/strong><\/p>

Me interesara el g\u00e9nero social, o m\u00e1s bien el cine que glorifica al ser humano, para devolver la atenci\u00f3n a lo que ocurre en nuestra sociedad, en el mundo, en el hermano que sufre.<\/p>
